Chris Baristow - Finance Manager

Chris joined Thorpe & Co in 1981 as a trainee Legal Executive in the Probate & Trust department. He began his legal training in 1984 via correspondence courses gaining distinctions in Probate & Succession and Trust Accounts with national prize winning certificates and cash awards! He was admitted as a Fellow in 1992.

He then undertook his accountancy training gaining an ILEX Diploma in Solicitors’ Accounts in 1995 and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Accounts Managers in 1998.

When Thorpe & Co became a Limited Company in 2008, Chris was appointed as the Company Secretary and became the Finance & Estates Manager and also the Compliance Officer for Finance & Administration.

Chris is also a committee member and Treasurer of the Scarborough Branch of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
